Bio

Elizabeth is the Alabama Rivers Alliance’s Watershed Organizer- working to build, unite, and support Alabama's Network of over 60 grassroots river and watershed protection groups. Liz is an Alabama native and honors graduate of Jacksonville State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Geography with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems. Elizabeth completed a year working for the Cahaba River Society in the Lower Cahaba Basin, gaining experience in grassroots organizing through service in AmeriCorps VISTA. Elizabeth has also worked for the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham and Ruffner Mountain Nature Center. Elizabeth is currently an initiate of River Network’s national training program, Training for Trainers through the Watershed Support Network and completed the innovative Alabama leadership development program, Alabama Organizing Project in 2008.
